Doug's 2019 Christmas Greeting

“May you never be too grown up to search the skies on Christmas Eve.”
 - Anonymous

I like this!  I too over the years found myself looking up at Christmas Eve skies and imagining Santa making his annual rounds.  It didn't matter how cold, frigid arctic-like, or blustery it could be, or even mild and maybe with a gentle snowfall blanketing our corner of the world, Santa would be magically oblivious to any weather conditions while he navigated from home to home.

Christmas is that one time of year when a grownup has the luxury of such imagination without his or her sanity being questioned!  For the young and the young at heart Christmas can recapture our childhood.  I recall one Christmas Eve our family travelling in the car and my mom had just noticed 'Santa Claus' running from door to door.  She was so excited.  The magic of Christmas had taken her back to her own childhood.  American writer Laura Elizabeth Ingalls Wilder (1867-1957) known for the “Little House on the Prairie” series of children's books wrote, “We are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmastime.”

May Christmas 2019 recapture a moment or two of your childhood and create new memories to be cherished for a lifetime.  We wish you the very best of this wonderful season!  First and foremost, let us remember that first Christmas when shepherds in their field were promised “good tidings of great joy” intended for all mankind with the news of the birth of our Saviour in the city of David.

May this Christmas and the New Year bring peace, happiness and health to you and yours and may we practise good will toward all as if every day were Christmas.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year in 2020!
Doug & Josey!
