Councillor McCann Meeting Report (March 6, 2018)
Belvedere Heights Monthly Board of Management Meeting
On Wednesday, February 28th, I attended the Belvedere Heights Monthly Board of Management Meeting. For the most part, regular business was conducted. Belvedere Heights Notice of Levee has been published. There is only an increase of 1.5% for the year 2018. The total levee for 2018 is $1,494,768.00 which is an increase in the amount of $22,000.00 over the 2017 total levee which was $1,472,678.00. The Town of Parry Sound's portion for 2018 is $138,858.00. This is a 1.46% increase over Parry Sound's portion for 2017.
Ontario is launching the first phase of a PSW (Personal Support Worker) registry. It will provide information on PSW's such as education and training credentials and adherence to code of conduct. The registry is expected to be ready by December of 2019.
Canadian Snowbirds Air Show Ad-Hoc Committee Meeting
On Monday, March 5th I attended another meeting of the Canadian Snowbirds Air Show Ad-Hoc Committee. Discussions on the logistics of organizing the event were discussed. Details about what will happen at the airport, and in town were covered. Sponsorship packages, vehicle and pedestrian control, security and marketing, volunteer organization and the beneficiary of funds raised above expenses were all covered. Again, the show is set for Wednesday, June 13th, 2018 from approximately 5:00 to 6:00PM over Georgian Bay at Parry Sound.
I would like to add that sitting at the table, during these committee meetings and watching everybody work out the logistics of the whole event, and there is a lot of planning, it's kind of like a magic that comes together when it's all said and done. We really want to take advantage of the Snowbirds' presence here. We want to organize a great event and involve as many as possible.
Belvedere Heights Human Resources (HR) Committee Meeting
