Councillor McCann Meeting Report (December 20, 2016)

Local Government Week
On Wednesday, December 7th I had the pleasure of taking part in a mock Council Meeting with the Grade 5 classes from Parry Sound Public School.  Of all the duties we as Mayor and Council perform, I think I have to say that this is my most enjoyable of all.  It's great to have these young students involved as they get to know about local government, its functioning and how meetings are conducted and how decisions are made.


Parry Sound Town Council Budget Meeting
Then on Tuesday, December 13th, I attended a Parry Sound Town Council Budget Meeting.


Parry Sound Area Industrial Park Board Meeting
This month’s meeting of the Parry Sound Area Industrial Park Board was cancelled.  It had been scheduled for Thursday, December 15th, but was called off due to a quiet month.


Parry Sound Victory School Commemorative Project Update
Unfortunately the Official Launch of the Victory School Commemorative Project was cancelled last Friday due to severe weather conditions, but has been rescheduled for this Wednesday at the West Parry Sound District Museum, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.  We are planning a special occasion with special guests.


Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
At this time I would take the opportunity to wish Mayor, Council and staff, and the people of Parry Sound a very Merry, and safe Christmas Holiday, and a healthy and prosperous New Year for 2017!
