West Parry Sound District Museum Monthly Board Meeting
On Thursday, July 23, 2020 I attended the West Parry Sound District Museum Monthly Board Meeting via ZOOM.  Peter Ewald of Bracebridge Generation provided a brief overview of the SPEEDIER project and went into a detailed description of the components that the Museum is being asked to participate in.  One of the items we are seriously considering is a partnership which would provide on-site EV (electric vehicles) chargers.  Regarding attendance at the Museum, of course, it is to be expected to be down but there has been an increase in the booking of appointments.  Reports from the Manager and Treasurer were received.  The Museum is forecasting a deficit of $18,000 which is just above the original forecast shortfall of $17,000.  Given that these times are difficult, the estimate has been well done.  The Museum is looking for an additional board member with financial expertise to help with financial management.  We also require a dedicated bookkeeper.  In the meantime the Board has retained the accounting firm of Gingrich and Harris in Parry Sound to audit the Museum's annual financial statements.
