Councillor McCann Meeting Report (December 17, 2024)

Condolences to the LeBlanc Family
I would very much like to take this opportunity to pass along my deepest condolences to the LeBlanc Family on the passing of Nancy last week, December 11, 2024. She was 86.  Long time residents of this area will remember that John and Nancy Leblanc owned and operated LeBlanc’s One Stop Automotive and Tire Store.  Son David kept the business name alive with his shop on Joseph Street before retiring within the last year or so.  Nancy was always so positive in her thinking and day-to-day life.  She certainly always saw that her glass was more than half full.  She was always busy with family and helping and advocating for those in need.  I did get to know Nancy very well and we often became engaged in conversation.  And back in my radio days the family business advertised frequently.  In voicing their commercials, I was always sure to please Nancy because I would remember the “C” in "LeBlanc" was silent.  It was always "LeBlan" and not "Leblanc"!  She was predeceased by her husband John and son Donald.  She is survived by her son David and his wife Emiliana. She was also predeceased by her brother Douglas Pearson.  In an online posted note of condolence someone wrote that she "lit up every room she was in, always smiling".  That was Nancy.  She will be missed.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
I would like to take this time on behalf of my wife Josey and myself to wish one and all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.  Have a wonderful, joyous and safe holiday season and all the best for health, happiness and peace in 2025!  I also invite you to check out my Christmas and New Year's message by clicking here: Doug's 2024 Christmas Greeting - “Is Technology Taking the 'Human' Out of Our Existence?".
