On Wednesday, January 24th, I had the honour of participating with the firm of Tim. L Dobbie Consulting Ltd. in search of our town’s new C.A.O.  Along with other Councillors and community steak holders, we each individually provided input to Dobbie Consulting regarding qualities, skills, experience, personality and various other attributes we each felt would be considered most ideal in our new C.A.O.

Town of Parry Sound Coat of Arms Ad-Hoc Committee Meeting
Monday evening, January 29th, I attended our second Town of Parry Sound Coat of Arms Ad-Hoc Committee meeting.  Mayor McGarvey, Councillor Jim Marshall, Ann Hurdman, Administrative Assistant, Anita Chechock of Wasauksing First Nations and Iain Laing, former Parry Sound Town Planner were also on hand.
We narrowed down some great ideas, which I believe will prove to be most iconic and symbolic of what the Town of Parry Sound is all about.

Jerry DaleyCondolences to Family of Jerry Daley
Finally, I would like to send out condolences to the family of Jerry Daley.  Jerry passed away last week at the age of 87.  He was well known in the area.  He was both a teacher and principal at Parry Sound High School and very involved with his church and the community.  Although I did not know Jerry, I do know some who were very close to him and I know they and the community will miss him dearly.
