Parry Sound Public Library Monthly Board Meeting
On Wednesday morning, March 8, 2023, I attended the Parry Sound Public Library Monthly Board Meeting, in person.  There was the approval of our Consent Agenda, the Treasurer’s Reports for the month of December, 2022, and January and February of 2023 were received and approved.  Our CEO Report was received, and there was a discussion on upcoming library programs.  Ontario Library Service will be visiting on Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to conduct the "101 Library Board Training".  It will be held downstairs in the auditorium.  Staff and Board Members will have the opportunity to network with board members from nearby library boards.  Our Community Engagement Director has successfully implemented the first of our 'pocket libraries' at Lakeland Long Term Care.  The collection has about fifty items which will be circulated every six weeks.  Belvedere is in the process of being setup with a pocket library.  This service is valuable for reaching those who would not otherwise be able to enjoy library services.  Staff has also been filling up the 'little free libraries' around the community with good quality donations of books.
