Councillor McCann Meeting Report (March 7, 2023)

West Parry Sound District Museum Monthly Board Meeting
Thursday evening, February 23, 2023, I attended the West Parry Sound District Museum Monthly Board Meeting via ZOOM.  Manager and Finance reports were received.  There was discussion over the old barn on Tower Hill once used for storage.  The barn belongs to the Museum and the Museum pays an annual honorarium for the ground that is consumed by the barn’s footprint.  We have decided to proceed with demolition and are to be in contact with the Town of Parry Sound on how to proceed.  The Manager’s computer needs to be replaced and the board is looking at options to procure a new system.  As requested at our January meeting the Facility Rental Policy was reviewed again, this time to accommodate the inclusion of the kitchen upon the completion of renovations.  We also talked about marketing personal and business memberships for the Museum.


Special Town of Parry Sound Council Meeting (Budget)
On Tuesday evening, February 28, 2023 I attended a Special Town of Parry Sound Council Meeting in which we undertook the 2023 Budget Overview and the Draft Capital Budget.
