Councillor McCann Meeting Report (February 18, 2025)
Town of Parry Sound Special Open Council Meeting
Along with Mayor, fellow Councillors and staff I attended the Special Open Council Meeting on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 as we reviewed the Town's Capital Budget. Coming up in a few weeks Council will review the Town's Operating Budget for 2025.
Note of Thanks to Public Works
I've been taking note of the "mountainous" snowbanks around town. This is certainly testament to the huge amount of snow we've received. It's as if winter was all rolled into three or four weeks! Our Public Works Department deserves a round of applause and a big note of thanks for its efforts in clearing the snow. With significant snow events such as we've been experiencing, getting to all the roads can be a logistical nightmare I'm sure. To Mike Kearns, our Public Works Director and his staff, thank you for your hard work and efforts! I would also like to remind motorists to ensure their vehicles are fully cleared of snow when heading out. You can't get anywhere without risking your own safety or the safety of other drivers on the road without fully clearing your windshield and other windows. With your peripheral vision compromised you can be an accident waiting to happen. Also, failure to clean your windshield properly can cost you $110 under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act. So, why not keep your wheels on the road and your money in your pocket!! Thank you!
