Councillor McCann Meeting Report (November 4, 2025)
West Parry Sound District Museum Monthly Board Meeting
On Thursday evening, October 23, 2025, I attended the West Parry Sound District Museum Monthly Board Meeting via ZOOM. Housekeeping matters including accepting and approving financial reports for August and September of this year were handled. The Museum's 2026 budget, presented in September was officially approved. In this month's ongoing review of the Museum's policy, the Health and Safety policy was deemed to be up to date with no recommended changes required at this time. There was discussion regarding Tracking Data to learn more about our visitors, including numbers and demographics, their interests as they pertain to the museum, what they may wish to see and such. Staff has found that the best way to collect viable data is to keep the collection and tracking processes simple.
Raising of the Poppy Flag at Town Hall
On Tuesday morning, November 4, 2025, I arrived back in town during the last part of the ceremony, the Raising of the Poppy Flag at Town Hall. Mayor, members of Council, Town staff, members of the Parry Sound Royal Canadian Legion Pioneer Branch 117 and members of the public were on hand. This is in honour of the men and women who dedicated their lives for our freedom. Please contribute to the Poppy Fund and proudly wear your poppy through to and including Remembrance Day, November 11, 2022.
