Volunteer Appreciation Event: Volunteers Make Waves
I had the pleasure of attending and M.C.ing the Volunteer Appreciation Event, Wednesday evening, April 30, 2025 at the Charles W. Stockey Centre, from 7:00 to 9:00. This was to show appreciation and gratitude to all those who volunteer for the Town of Parry Sound. The adopted theme this year, is "Volunteers Make Waves, Recognizing and Appreciating the Ripple Effect" and is in celebration of National Volunteer Week. We honour the volunteers and their contributions. In addition to the presentation of a number of certificates, attendees enjoyed snacks, beverages, games and entertainment. Congratulations to all recipients.


West Parry Sound District Community Support Services On the Move
The West Parry Sound District Community Support Services has officially moved to its new location on the ground floor of 60 James Street, downtown Parry Sound. Staff and volunteers are taking advantage of the larger quarters to better serve members of the public and offer additional programming. The public is invited to an official opening this Friday, May 9, 2025. There will be light refreshments and entertainment provided by The Downstairs Band. Our MPP, Graydon Smith will be on hand. The doors open at 10:30 with the ribbon cutting at 11:00.
