Councillor McCann Meeting Report (February 19, 2019)

The Museum on Tower Hill
I’d like to remind people that the GoFundMe Challenge of $5,000 to help put a working model of the Ottawa, Arnprior and Parry Sound railway is still on.  The model will bring history back to life. Depot Harbour and the era of the lumber barrens and more will be celebrated in this unique installation!  The funds raised from this campaign will be used to make the necessary upgrades the E Roy Smith Gallery required to install the model.  Please go to http://www.museumontowerhill.com for information and the link to the GoFundMe page.  Our goal is to raise the 5,000 dollars by the end of this month.  In addition to the museum’s website, we're also on Facebook.  Charitable tax receipts are available upon request for donations over $25.

The Flying Fathers in Parry Sound Meet Our Eager Beavers
The Flying Fathers Triple H Charity Challenge is set to take place tomorrow evening at the Bobby Orr Community Centre.  The Knights of Columbus and Waubuno Shrine Club extended a challenge to the Flying Fathers.  We are privileged to be included in the new Flying Fathers' inaugural tour! The rule book is out and the fun and entertainment are what it’s all about.  Of course more importantly, raising money for Hospice West Parry Sound, Hope Pregnancy Support Centre of Parry Sound and Habitat for Humanity, Parry Sound Chapter is the main goal as all three charities greatly serve our area!  The doors open at 5:30 with the first puck drop at 6:30!
Food and refreshments will be available upstairs.  Tickets are $15.00 each for adult and $5.00 each for children 3 to 12.  Go to http://www.flyingfathershockeyinparrysound.com.
